TouchPoint Radio is your local community station for North Essex & East Herts. We cover a geographical region that includes Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Thaxted, Stansted Mountfitchet and all the villages in between. We also include the Bishops Stortford area and Stansted Airport.

CAN YOU HELP? WE NEED TO FILL THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEER ROLES

PRESENTING / RECORDING ROLES

Presenters – we need presenters to host scheduled live shows and to help record others. If you have experience as a DJ or radio presenter that is helpful but we can train you to use our fully equipped studio. The role would suit someone who is either retired or has fixed free time each day/week and can commit to broadcasting regularly from our studio in Stansted.

News Editor – we need an enthusiastic individual to gather and coordinate our local news coverage. We gather and filter news stories from around the region and produce short announcements for our live shows, plus we edit the weekly news summary from Talking Newspapers Uttlesford. This does not need to be a presenting role, but if you wish to record news bulletins on a daily or weekly basis it would be an option.

Content Creators – Podcast/Youtube/Reels producers. If you create existing content that would suit a local community audience in audio format then we’d like to hear from you. We can begin broadcasting existing episodes immediately or work with you to edit down episodes to suit a radio format.

Community groups, organisations & individuals – are you interested in sharing your services, events and knowledge through the radio? Drop an email to our Community Voices team using: radio@thetouchpoint.org

Bands, choirs & music groups – we can assist with recording your performances and events or advise you how to make and send us recordings.

Vocal artists, musicians & singers – we need a range of voices to help us create jingles and announcements.

Sports clubs & fans – we need roving reporters who are willing to record short match reports and updates about local teams.

Audio Editors – with experience of audio editing (Audition, Audacity etc), to help edit and optimise recordings submitted for broadcast, create idents and announcements and fine tuning.
