What is a Community Food Share?

It’s all about reducing food waste! We help to distribute produce which supermarkets would otherwise dispose of but is still perfectly good to eat.

We work with local supermarkets to collect food at the end of the day that would otherwise be thrown away. We then invite the community along to help themselves to whatever they want – for free. The idea is to reduce the amount of food going into landfill, and it’s been a great success so far!

A big thank you to the local Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose stores for supporting the project. We’ve had a great variety of produce on offer from vegetables to baked goods, and fruit to cut flowers.

To find out more please contact us. And if you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you! Please email volunteer@thetouchpoint.org.uk and we will get back to you.
